The New USAJOBS Website Redesign Video News Release

Before a room full of reporters and
dignitaries, United States Office of Personnel Management debuted its new
USAJobs website. The website is the main portal for
Americans to access and apply for employment opportunities with the federal
government. OPM Deputy Director Christine Griffin says it was a
top-to-bottom refresh, a total makeover making it easier for the applicant to
apply. For an applicant being able to find a job where they want, when they want and with the qualifications that they have.
they need it to be able to do a quickly and easily and we think we’ve
accomplished that. The other thing that individuals do, is
once they’ve applied for a job through USAJobs, hopefully using the
resumes that they’ve posted there, then they want to find out information about
the status of those jobs. So we’ve really tried to make the process a lot better
so that they can go to USAJobs, see the status of every single job that they’ve
applied for and we’re still making a lot of progress by integrating with agency
systems to make that a reality. USAJobs has served as the federal government’s
source for federal employment and job information since August 2003. On a typical day USAJobs logs more than
four hundred fifty thousand visits to its website.
