Chinese People Try Panda Express For The First Time

Chinese People Try Panda Express For The First Time

– Panda Express to me is like
white people’s Chinese food. (Chinese folk music) – This is so gross. – Wow, this looks like a candle. – It’s like soggy on the inside. (Chinese folk music) – If you actually know
real Chinese chow mein, you’d be like, “This is
American Chinese chow mein.” – Ew, it smells like stinky feet. – It actually tastes pretty authentic. – I think it’s not that bad. – Wow, you’ve never had
authentic Chinese food before. – Yeah, this is judged. – I’d rather eat this than the egg roll, I’ll put it that way. – Low standards. (laughs) – That’s how I end up with her. – He looks down at Panda Express, but he eats McDonald’s all the time. I don’t understand. – Melanie likes it. Do you want mine? (laughs) – Good job says my grandpa. (Chinese folk music) – If you blind folded me,
I’m eating plain rice. – It kinda tastes like cardboard. (Chinese folk music) – It smells so bad. – It smells like putrid. – Wow. (laughs) – It’s really sour. (laughs) – Yeah, I do not like that. Nope, no. – This reminds me of taking shots, like the bad aftertaste. – They don’t like it. (Chinese folk music) – This is my dad’s favorite. Like if he were here, he would hate this. – Oh it smells good. – Actually it smells OK. – This smells good, yeah. – Really? I feel like it smells weird. – I like this. – Oh, it’s really salty. (Chinese folk music) – Orange chicken is not real Chinese food. My mom calls it the food
that fools Americans. – Oh, no, no, no, I know what this is. Burnt soy sauce. – Not sure what that is, you know. – This chicken is sad. – He had to finish all his orange chicken. He says it’s so good. – I can’t imagine anyone
thinking that Panda’s actually Chinese food. – But you know what my
dad used to always say is that you can’t leave one
grain of rice on the plate. – [Melanie] Yeah, that’s
what my mom always said too, so I don’t like wasting food. – Right, did you not get that
when you were younger too? – Oh no, all the time. – The grain of rice.

  1. Bruh the old man and women that the guy kept saying good job good job probably they didn’t grow up with much I just take it from that perspective so they like it 4 that reason and Panda Express really isn’t bad

  2. The Elders liked almost everything while the millennials hated everything! They should have had them both together to share feedback!

  3. young Chinese guy: i cAnT iMaGinE aNyoNe aCtuALLy tHinKinG tHaT tHiS iS cHinEsE fOOd
elderly guy in literally the next clip: this is food that Chinese people would accept
    ???????????

  4. sometimes i wonder if this was scripted and BuzzFeed just wanted to make the younger generation look bad by forcing them to say really mean things about it LMAO

  5. Hahahahaha I don’t think you have a chance haha was a way of a long time to come to the party tomorrow and you guys know that I wanna

  6. Doesn’t traditional Chinese food typically contain mostly rice and vegetables with a smaller portion of meat, or is it only like that in certain areas? Or am I thinking of a totally different region?

  7. im chinese and i like panda express and i have tasted a lot of original Chinese food from china but i still like panda express lol

  8. The older people know what’s going on. And even if they hadn’t had liked it, I’m sure they would’ve said it nicely. I’m sorry, but those teenagers really got on my nerves.

  9. I love how biased young asian male pans Panda express as being asian food for white people, gets busted out by his sister as being a McDonalds patriot but still caters to his "authentic" side. GTFOH lmao. Never said anything positive about sugary carb induced scientifically altered fast food that is supposed to taste good. Yet the OGs arent afraid to say they liked half of everything they ate. HILARIOUS.

  10. The guy that said he can’t imagine anyone thinking this is real Chinese food….nobody thinks that. Nobody goes to Panda Express expecting authentic Chinese food.

  11. The younger ones are so unlikeable. It’s the older ones who actually try it and like it while the younger ones constantly put it down. Whatever losers. It’s only the older ones I care about.

  12. I feel like the millennials are showing out that they are of Chinese descent. They seem American born and have no accent. I wish they wouldn't degrade something that they probably don't know that much about themselves. I also don't like how they are so quick to throw insults and completely degrade the food. This video kind of gave me a negative stigma on Chinese people that are in their 20s from America. Their expectations and egos are way too high!

  13. I just came over from the latino section of buzzfeed to here and the difference in how the cultures act is huge
Its quite fascinating to me actually but wow lol

  14. Notice how the authentic elderly Chinese people don’t go as hard on the food than the American born millennials. It’s like the millennials have something to prove by saying that the food is disgusting, because they expect the elderly people to say the same thing. In reality the elderly people are just being honest about what they think.

  15. Bruh those teenagers were just trying to bash it while the older Chinese people who have probably actually been to China agree that its good

  16. On the real tho, I know those teenagers liked that food. They just lying to themselves make them think they don't like it XD

Yes Panda isn't made in China, yes Panda isn't made by Chinese people, but it's still good food. They're acting like just because it's not authentic Chinese that it's automatically horrible. Fake af.

  17. Like the teens don’t have to act authentic and pretend they are Chinese. If they acted like normal people, then they would actually be pretty good

  18. Please know that if you have happened to sell your soul to some type of a contract, a power, a spirit, or the Devil, to please know that JESUS CHRIST has the ability to break up any of those types of relationships.

  19. [As an overseas Chinese]
I never understand why anyone would call Panda Express bad. I tried it when I was over in the states for a week and I actually loved it. I also agree with the old man, their orange chicken is really damn tasty and juicy. Would definitely go back there again.

  20. I wonder how long that Panda was sitting in their To Go Boxes. I can't stand eating old soggy Orange Chicken as it loses that beautiful texture and becomes mushy oil. I enjoy Panda from time to time and it is, what it is. I order a half/half w/Mandarin Chicken , Orange Chicken, and Fried Tofu & Eggplant. Hit that up with some yellow mustard, chili paste and soy sauce….I'll have a two day meal as you don't want to eat the entire 3 item combo yourself.

  21. It's kind of ironic how the three teenagers are talking about how disgusting the food is but at the end of the clip they're eating the food regardless of wasting the food. If it tastes the way they are describing then why are they eating it?

  22. auh i am shinese hoh me noh laik the hpandauh espress augh me raik fry creekets eh so maush bettouh foh mai shainees
    TEMPOUL

  23. How can someone say Orange Chicken is not real Chinese food, if it was created by a Chinese dude xD but technically their intention wasn't to say that Orange Chicken is Chinese, they always say is American-Chinese, because is a Chinese dish of US origin.
The whole idea of Panda Express is to make a bridge between two different cultures, so you can't say that because is a Chinese food, it would be exactly the same as the Traditional Chinese.

I was gonna talk more about the history but I don't want to write a whole testament haha xD

Edit: Forgot to add something, every time I go to Panda Express like, 80% of the people there are Chinese haha, so how can you say all those things dude (this is for the guy that kept talking bad about the food).

  24. I bet if you served home made traditional Chinese food to the younger kids and told them it was Panda Express they would judge it because they have no idea what traditional Chinese food is. Smh ?‍♂️

  25. want to have the next best thing to authentic asian culture food? visit vancouver, based off my experience and my own opinion it was hands down my favourite

  26. Come on, people. Look at the food tastes of your grandparents. Would you trust them? Their favorite restaurants are suburban chains. AND Chinese elders are more acculturated to be "nice" in public and don't live in a world where their peers think Panda Express is real, traditional Chinese food.

Yeah, the younger ones are hamming it up, but their non-Chinese friends probably think Panda Express represents their culture when it doesn't.

    I'm Chinese.

  27. I hated that gray shirt guy throughout the video and when I was done watching it I checked the comments and it turns out everybody else disliked him too lol

  28. I worked at Panda Express and I can tell you that for one, that food looked like it had sat a while before being served. And two, Panda has it on their sign that it is "American Chinese Cuisine". It is not exact Chinese food.

  29. Love how it shows the elders liking it then shows the younger ones disliking it and saying that it doesn't taste like the authentic

  30. Yo elder folks got more supported cause what they said fits the title, chinese food first time trying, and right that they are older experienced Chinese folks who already lets assume they figure out their lives and accept the characteristics of Panda Express, man I love panda express. I had tried a lot of restaurants when i was in China(my uncles opens restaurants too), and love panda express too. Who cares which are better, mathafaka they are different. Real fact too that panda express have dishes that are main from Canton/Shanghai area food system(total of 8 food systems in china), they are stir fried/ sweet and so on. Man i want eat it now, 12am night.

  31. I don't think the Chinese teens actually hated the food they were paid by buzzfeed to act as rude as they want

  32. The younger people seem more to have a dislike towards america itself than the food, they even said its white peoples chinese….I didnt realize liking panda Express was innately a white thing, classic buzzfeed

  33. How could it be American Chinese food of the owners of Panda Express are Chinese? Wtf don’t get it. So what are they doing wrong.

  34. All mother f**ckers really trust the food in Panda express is actually authentic Chinese food? That's really sad. I am from China. And I can tell you those are not authentic Chinese food at all. Everybody criticizes the young guy when he is telling the truth. Very sad.

  35. I'm chinese and I've been in the US for 10 years.I walked in Panda Express only once and I walked out without ordering anything. To me the food looked … well I can't say disgusting but definitely didn't impress me in anyway.
